Candy Cane Place Card Holders

These candy cane place card holders are super easy to make (and you might even have all of the materials on hand!).Materials: three candy canes, a hot glue gun, ribbon, and a name card.Run hot glue from the base of a candy cane about 3/4 of the way up.

Run another line of hot glue in the crease between the two candy canes glued together and press the third candy cane into the glue.

(The three candy canes should be attached in a triangle formation so that they sit up as shown in the pictures.)

Right before Christmas, I found this little candy cane stand idea on Pinterest and as I was missing a name tags for the upcoming Christmas Party I decided to give it a try.This is how my candy cane place card holder turned out.Because of that, I ended up having to change my design and replace the red ribbon with a gold ribbon.

And last but not least, I could put a name on the candy cane stand.

After that, the candy cane holder was ready to be placed on the Christmas table.

There are actually 3 candy canes in this picture, although you can’t really see the 3rd one.If you look at the bottom of the “Candy Cane Holder”, you can see the reflection of the 3rd one on the table.These are regular sized candy canes and, using my husband as a second set of hands, I tied 3 together with thin red ribbon.If you don’t have a second set of hands or just want an easier way to do this yourself, you can also glue them together.

I had tried ribbon and that doesn't work.This isn't a very good picture but I mainly wanted to showcase the candy cane holders.

Both cards will be December Stamp Club projects.You can dress these holders up with ribbon and greenery but my cards cover all that up, so decided to leave it plain.If you use these for place/name cards, then maybe you will want to decorate them more.

To create the pocket for the candy cane, apply adhesive to the (2 x 4) red cardstock in the center.Line that up with the (2 x 8.5) red cardstock where the 2 x 2 piece is near the score line.

If you used a corner round on the red piece do the same to the larger white.

Adhere the white square to the front of the holder and the larger piece on the inside.Apply foam squares to the back of the greeting, adhere to red and then adhere this piece on the square piece of the holder.
