I have never been satisfied with our onion and potato storage.We have traditionally stored them in the laundry room.

Since our new layout will most likely involve walling the laundry room off from the kitchen I need to find room in the kitchen for the onions and potatoes.

I like the look but worry about 1) the difficulty of cleaning the baskets, especially when an onion or potato over ripens and get a bit “slimy”, and 2) using an entire lower cabinet space.While I would love to have these items in the “prep zone”, the pantry area might be an option as well.
