But, no matter how many new ideas I happen to come across, how many times I re-work and add to that wish list, there are some projects I just can’t seem to shake and today, I though I’d share a few of them with you. Though they’ve quite never made their way up to the top of my to-do list, these five DIY home decor projects have been on my mind for far too long and I’m thinking it’s about time we finally tackle them!
I’ve been planning out a DIY plate rack for this wall in our dining room for years now (something like this maybe?). Wouldn’t a plate rack be the perfect way to decorate that long, narrow space above our board + batten.
I love the idea of bringing even more charm and character to this wall with a simple DIY plate rack running the entire length of it. Honestly, with other far less invasive options to explore, it just doesn’t seem worth the work or expense to move it.
So, the idea we’ve been leaning towards is simply replacing the trim that runs along the top with something much wider. Replacing that top trim would be a super quick and easy project (infinitely easier than moving that window!
Okay, so this one is not such a quick and easy project, especially because I’ve already purchased the new legs each piece and of course, not one of them came finished, pre-drilled, or ready to install in any fashion at all.
I’ve been swooning over all sorts of the most lovely wallpaper for ages now, looking for the perfect place to work some beautiful pattern into our own home.
Honestly, it wasn’t until the pandemic hit and we found ourselves spending more time at home than ever, that I started thinking about adding some window coverings around the house. I’ve ordered samples from a few online shops, but between the infinite options and the cost being significantly more than I’d expected, I have to admit that I’m feeling paralyzed with indecision about it all at the moment.
