No matter what I do, all our toys seem to end up in the living room, so I’ve been on a mission to find toy storage ideas for the living room that actually work for my family. If you’re working with a small space, toy storage and organization can be a bigger challenge.

However, I’ve found a number of ways to make my living room kid-friendly by both creating a toy corner and finding hidden toy solutions in the living room. Creating a toy rotation system has been a game changer in my house. It’s the perfect idea for a living room, because you can use decorative baskets in them to sort, store and hide toys.

In a perfect world, we would have clean ups where every single item goes back to where it belongs – but just isn’t a reality in my home.
We do clean out the baskets and put the toys back where they belong a couple times a week. We use this storage hack under beds and cribs, but if your living room furniture allows, try using shallow baskets to store toys! If you’re short on room, a great hack is to utilize vertical space.
