Last week I swear I heard the Rocky theme song playing while I was rushing around like a mad woman trying to get this budget small bathroom remodel finished in time! Never the less here we are at the end of the month long $100 room challenge with a completely finished bathroom makeover to show y’all! One of my favorite inexpensive bathroom remodel ideas is to frame in existing mirrors with wood. Framing in the mirrors was probably the easiest project of the entire remodel & it didn’t cost me a penny because I used all scrap 1x2s!
The second major change for this small master bathroom was adding board and batten made out of 1 sheet of wood MDF! We were able to add tall board and batten around the entire bathroom using only one sheet of $30 wood MDF.
Plus the vanity was not in bad shape at all, it just needed a little pop of color & a super cool design feature in the form of peel & stick wallpaper! If you have been following along with us for a bit you know I recently painted our outdoor patio ceiling with this color & absolutely loved it!
The only thing I spent money on for this bathroom vanity makeover was the peel and stick wallpaper I added to the fronts of the cabinet. Another cheap bathroom remodel trick is to spray paint your existing hardware with fun new color, like this metallic gold!
The wall behind the bathtub felt a little empty so I decided to add tongue and groove boards. I had two extra because I thought I wanted them closer together in the closet, but I changed my mind & never returned them so this was clearly fate!
There were a few other updates, one cheeky DIY sign, & lots of shopping my home/scrap wood pile to stay within this $100 budget. I also had to sell my two window frames that were originally hanging over the bathtub, the old light globes, & towel bar to give myself a teeny tiny bit extra for this inexpensive bathroom remodel. Justin definitely doubted me during this budget bathroom makeover & he now has a new appreciation for my scrap wood hoarding!
I would like to thank Erin from Lemons, Lavender, & Laundry for hosting this amazing event & challenging us all to create spaces we love on a DIY budget!
