When it comes to designing the perfect combination outdoor living space, Archadeck of Columbus believes there’s a lot to be said for starting with a blank canvas. Not everyone has that luxury, but in this case, we were brought in to design and build a combination deck/outdoor kitchen/patio/firepit/pergola/seating wall for a brand-new house in Delaware, OH. Making the job even more fun, we were designing and building this multi-functional outdoor space for an executive chef who enjoys cooking and entertaining at home.
Starting with the outdoor kitchen, the homeowner/chef will be able to cook absolutely anything out on the deck with a large grill, gas side burners and a Big Green Egg smoker. Archadeck of Columbus can design a space that is as simple or luxurious as your taste and budget dictate — from compact to expansive — the world is your oyster when it comes to the combinations and amenities available. When you’re cooking outside instead of inside, during the hot and humid summer, your air conditioner won’t have to work overtime to keep your house cool.
When you bake, fry, roast, and broil foods in your indoor-kitchen, the temperature in your house rises several degrees, which kicks your A/C into overdrive. Additionally, many of the materials we use within our custom outdoor living spaces are considered low-maintenance; these include pavers, stone, and synthetics, all of which are a breeze to maintain.
Most of today’s BBQ grills and other outdoor kitchen appliances are made from stainless steel, which makes them not only able to handle the changing seasonal temperatures but also desirable because they are easy to clean.
When you cook foods such as fish or deep-fried items, the aroma can linger for days and is hard to eradicate from within the home.
Every time you opt to dine at home rather out, you keep dollars in your wallet — and who can deny the ambiance of the great outdoors?
