Living Room Refresh with Jewel Tones

I have been crushing on jewel tones this season so I switched out a couple of things and my Living Room was completely transformed! I love the rich color and gold and black & white accents! I was reluctant to do it at first but when we ran out of other options, I put my cream chalk painted desk in here and found a gorgeous ghost chair at Homegoods. You may remember my DIY Macramé hanging planters from my Master Bedroom.

So this was a bit of a risk for me and a little out of my comfort zone but I decided to layer these two rugs and I love the look! The black and white rug is from Ikea and the Pink/Purple “magic carpet” is from Urban Outfitters.

I seriously need to update those pictures considering that family photo is missing two of my kids! Just for fun, I thought I would show you the drastic changes that this room has gone through since we moved here in 2011.

We have repainted from grey to white, refinished the wood floors beneath the dingy carpet and redecorated as my style has evolved.
